Quoting Peter (psalzman(_at_)landau(_dot_)ucdavis(_dot_)edu):
in the procmailex and procmailrc man pages, some recipes start with:
:0:
:0
:0 flags
:0 flags:
can someone tell me the purpose of the 2nd colon?
Tells procmail to use a lockfile. This is necessary when delivering mail
to a traditional UNIX style mailbox to prevent mailbox corruption.
Locks are not necessary for non-delivering recipies (i.e., if you're
fowarding or filtering)
