Kernel-lock failed? Can anyone give me a clue as to what could cause that?
The mail above was an auto-generated vacation-style message. The message
never made it to my inbox either, but it was (thank heavens) in my backup
directory.
The most likely explanation is that procmail does not have sufficient
privileges to write to your mailspool. What are the permissions on
/var/spool/mail and procmail? Procmail may need to be setgid mail or
setuid root for this to work.

Hmm, is your mailspool NFS mounted from elsewhere? Could that server
have gone down? If so that would also explain it.
