Marking messages for Netscape Messenger

1998-03-13 03:03:09
Hello,

I don't have the formail manpages (my ISP does not install pages
for procmail too, everything else, strange, isn't it), so maybe
one of you can help me.

I'm getting more SPAM lately. This might be through this list or
elsewise. Don't know and is not important. But I though I could
do some "carefull" filtering by adding something to the message
and not deleting it.

I can filter very few things with Netscapes Messager. It will do
matches on sender, to, cc, to or cc, date, body, priority, status
and subject with things like "contains", "doesn't contain", "ends with",
"starts with", "is", "is after" and such things.

What kind of marking would you suggest for a message that some
patterns suspect to be SPAM (and that would be detecable by the
Messenger)?

And how would you accomplish adding it?

I thought of adding a cc: header to some address of mine like
spam_suspect(_at_)kayhayen(_dot_)com and resending the message, leting it
pass through, if that address is matched.

Or is it possible to modify the mail and still deliver it to
$DEFAULT, ie. my mail dir/POP mailbox?

        Greetings, Kay Hayen
