Spring cleaning of mailfiles

I keep a lot of old mail for several reasons. I'd like to clean up my
mailfiles, so that old mail is moved to a separate file.

I believe procmail and formail could do that, but the man pages doesn't
say anything about any dates.(?)

Anybody that has a recipe close to what I want?
