Problem Delivering to /dev/null

Slowly more information seems to be seeping out on my procmail
problem. Another user in my ISP has posted something to the in-house
newsgroup.

My ISP's mail servers are running procmail 3.11pre7 and sendmail
8.8.x. What un*x the servers are running I do not know. Apparently
any procmail recipe which delivers to /dev/null causes things to go
berserk. (The other user's procmail logfile said something about a
problem writing to /dev/null, and I was running with logging off when
I got clobbered.)

Has anybody heard any such thing with the particular combination of
procmail and sendmail? Everything worked beautifully until the ISP
"upgraded" software, then it all went blooie. Even the help desk seems
to be getting stonewalled.
