About stripping headers

1998-10-05 09:06:28
State of my system (Linux 2.0.35): sendmail 8.8.8/8.6.10 running with
procmail v3.10 1994/10/31 as local mailer; formail existing.

I woul'd like processing incoming messages so a text message originated
as "forward"  (i.e.  <Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary.... > in
the Header and <Content-Type: text/plain> in the Body) is masquerading
as simple text message (i.e. <Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
boundary.... > eliminated in the Header)

I tried to use different combination of procmail/formail without any
success:
1) $HOME/.procmailrc  like
   :0 B
   * ^Content-Type: text/plain
   |/usr/bin/procmail -m  /testrc
$HOME/testrc like
   :0 fwh
   * ^Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary
   | /usr/bin/formail -I "Content-Type:"

Attention: if I use actual testrc as .procmailrc Header "Content-Type:"
is stripped (right!), instead if I call testrc by actual .procmailrc I
don't receive any message in the mailbox. More: if I use actual
.procmailrc and in testrc don't use formail but, for exemple, simply
send message in a non standard mailbox (ex. testbox) all is OK (i.e.
with old $HOME/.procmailrc and $HOME/testrc like
   :0 fwh
   * ^Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary
   testbox
I have my message in testbox)

2) $HOME/.procmailrc  like
   :0 B
   * ^Content-Type: text/plain
   {
   :0 fwh
   * ^Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary
   | /usr/bin/formail -I "Content-Type:"
   }
Result: no messages in the mailbox.

Anyone can help me?

Emanuela
