Our site had come accross a problem with an inbound email. A message from
site A was sent to two receipients at our site. The email got queued at
our site's 2nd priority MX host, and finally sent to our main mail hub. I
read the log saying that the Status of the message is Sent on our mail hub.
However, the
email got bounced back to site A with an error "Illegal seek", and that
the two receipients at our site did not receive the message. I am
wondering if this is a procmail problem. I am using the latest version of
procmail, namely, procmail-311pre7, with sendmail-8.8.6. If you know what
the problem might have been caused, I would be glad to hear about it. Thanks.
"Illegal seek" doesn't sound like a procmail or sendmail error. Can
you provide the top part of the bounce message (everything before the
copy of the message that bounced)?
