Hello,
I recently installed procmail on my machine, and I am trying
to get it to
grab my Digest mailing lists, pull out the individual messages,
and sort them
into folders according to which list they came from.
I can do this from the command line, following the examples
in the man
pages, but when I try to use my .forward file (again, following
the examples
from the man pages), the emails get shipped to Dimension X or
something,
meaning they completely disappear off the system.
My question is threefold:
1) Can I have incoming mail trigger a prewritten script rather
than procmail.
and what would the syntax look like given a file called
"convert_mail"?
2) Is posting of code disdained / discouraged by this list? If
so, is there
anyone willing / able to help, that I could begin a private
dialog with?
3) I am the SysAdmin (albeit a very new one). I am running Sun
Solaris
2.6 with sendmail 8.9.1. Can anyone give me an example / URL of
what
the syntax would be to replace mail with procmail as my Mlocal
delivery
agent? I would like to do it, but I want to make sure I do it
RIGHT. Can't
afford to have email down while try to figure it out...
TIA,
Joey
