Is there a way of sending automated responses to a message?

    Yes. :-)

Well, basically what I'd like to do is twofold:

1. having a ready-to-be-sent message with a crypto key and having it
sent to the sender of a message on reply, say, based on the sender's
Subject: field input (thus no need to keep the sender's message for
reading).

        :0 h
        * ^Subject:[    ]+\/send[       ]+key\>.*
        | mutt -s "Re: $MATCH" `formail -rtzxTo:` </path/to/key/file

(the brackets [...] contain a space and a tab).

2. notifying a change of email address to every sender, except the
given ones (so to avoid sending it everytime I get a message from a
list), while still getting the message processed and delivered to its
correspondent mbox for later reading.

    Sorry, I can't parse this.

For the record, I'm using fetchmail r4.3.9, smail3.2.0.101, mutt
0.93i, and procmail v3.11pre7, under Debian2.0 (Linux 2.0.34).

You might want to use postfix as your MTA, the author of smail
himself is using it. :-)

    Liviu Daia
