With procmail-3.11-1.i386.rpm was there any reports of messages

I've never heard of the above happening, though I have heard of people
accidentally saving their rcfiles with CRLF instead of just LF as the
line terminator and thereby completely breaking them.
Hmm, if the message itself is gaining CRs then I would probably check
to make sure the MTA is configured correctly. If the MTA is sendmail
then the prog and local mailer should either _not_ have E= directives,
or they should be E=\n
