Hi,
I'm pretty new to Linux, and I know nothing about mail ...
But I would like to concentrate all my mail in an internet gateway linux
machine wich use IP masquarading.
This machine is connected to my ISP with a modem (PPP), I have a POP3 account
there.
I want to pick my messages from the POP3 server and inject them in the Cygnus
IMAP4 server.
Can someone help me, Is it possible ? I'm completly lost in all the stuff ...
Thank's

I'm doing everything you mention except for the IMAP part...... I use
FETCHMAIL to draw mail off the ISP into the Linux server and then use
PROCMAIL to distribute it. I use the procmail recipes to distribute my
mail to several 'pseudo-users' to divide it into groups.
I am the only user on this system but this would work for multiple
users as well. I divide my mail into 'lists', 'work', and 'personal'
and use a mail-reader on OS/2 to draw the mail off the Linux server.
To do this I started with the man pages for fetchmail and procmail.
Fetchmail is pretty easy to set up, procmail a little tougher but not
much.
Sorry I can't help you with the IMAP stuff... and it would help to
know what distribution of Linux you are using and whether procmail is
installed by default.
