rewriting and emails from mailing lists

1999-09-07 06:14:29

Greetings !

I searched the archives but could not find a similar problem.

I have a virtually hosted domain where aliasing is being done:
somenames(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)com go to one mailbox and
othernames(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)com go to
another mailbox

We use some pop mail collectors to collect the mail from the mailbox and
distribute over our LAN.

There is a problem that happens with some mailing lists. Usually, there is
some stamp such as recipient(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)com somewhere in the header of
the
email, which allows the mail collector to identify the message. In the case
of some mailing lists, there is *NO* mention of the alias/ recipient or
even the domain name anywhere in the header ! What i cannot figure out is
how do these messages land up in the appropriate mailbox anyway! (i checked
by subscribing to certain mailing lists from various email addresses).

Now, what i would very much like to do is to use procmail to rewrite the To
header or to write a new header, such as procmail_to:
username(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)com(_dot_) I tried a variety of combinations using
"!" but
without any luck.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks in advance

Venky
