Hmm ... the procmailrc could 

(1) wait for a sleep command to end before sending the autoreply;
(2) schedule the autoreply to be sent by the at daemon or by the cron daemon
    instead of sending it itself;
(3) queue the autoreply to be sent later by another process, perhaps by one
    called from cron.
