What does the sendmail log (probably /var/log/maillog) show
for the message with queue id e3DIWs900407?

I don't seem to have a file called maillog anywhere
(I'm using Slackware 7.0)

<sigh>

Look in /etc/syslog.conf for a line that contains either "mail.*" or
"mail.debug". The filename that appears at the end of that line is the
maillog file. Look there.

Here we go:

ADDRESS TEST MODE (ruleset 3 NOT automatically invoked)
Enter <ruleset> <address>
canonify input: root @ localhost
Canonify2 input: root < @ localhost >
Canonify2 returns: root < @ ICLinuxServer . ichilton . co . uk . >
canonify returns: root < @ ICLinuxServer . ichilton . co . uk . >
parse input: root < @ ICLinuxServer . ichilton . co . uk . >
Parse0 input: root < @ ICLinuxServer . ichilton . co . uk . >
Parse0 returns: root < @ ICLinuxServer . ichilton . co . uk . >
ParseLocal input: root < @ ICLinuxServer . ichilton . co . uk . >
ParseLocal returns: root < @ ICLinuxServer . ichilton . co . uk . >
Parse1 input: root < @ ICLinuxServer . ichilton . co . uk . >
Parse1 returns: $# local $: root
parse returns: $# local $: root

That looks good, but let's see what the logfile says.
