You also might want to quote with a forward-slash[1] the period in

[1] Strictly speaking, there is no such thing as a "forward-slash" -
and the term is a linguistically slothful one. We have "slashes" and
"backslashes" (thanks to Bill Gates). But now most everyone feels
compelled to overstate the former with the prefix "forward-"; and I
find that even I am not always able to avoid doing it. Woe is me!
