Unless your message has been sitting in a mail queue somewhere for the
last 21 months, you need to fix the date on your computer, please.

From there, you will find links to a couple of excellent faqs and other
resources containing useful examples. You will also want to get familiar
with the searchable list archives:

http://www.xray.mpe.mpg.de/mailing-lists/procmail/

You should also have a handful of man pages on your system:

procmail (1) - autonomous mail processor
procmailex (5) - procmail rcfile examples
procmailrc (5) - procmail rcfile
procmailsc (5) - procmail weighted scoring techique

Depending on your background, the man pages may be a difficult place to
start your learning, but they are invaluable to the whole process. While
looking at examples from the resources mentioned above (or others), I
almost always have the man pages open as well.

I don't know about PHP specifically, but there have been discussions of
automating database interaction in the past, which you should find in
the list archives. Hopefully that will get you started.
