Not only is this entire thread off-topic as it is, but this comment
is a complete non sequitur (as well as misleading.) What does this
have to do with anything?
1. Please don't "Cc:" me on list posts, since I then have to download
duplicates.
sorry.. took u off
2. Since this is ridiculously off-topic, this will be my last post
regarding this matter to this list.
oopsie {:} ru SSHORE about that?
3. I'll assume it's true that the USA is the largest user of petroleum
products per capita, as well as leading in "greenhouse" gas
production.
look at my website:
http://itsa.ucsf.edu/~kayve
go to the links 'blort' and 'pops'
if u don't trust me do the map yerself.. but
right now i have a normalized graph on my
curriculum vitae (linked or ~/cv/exper.html)
a. What I found to be "misleading" is that Kayven's comment seemed to
imply that we are in danger of actually soon depleting the world's
petroleum, which is rather absurd. The amount of oil available is
astounding. We won't deplete it any time in the foreseeable
future.
with respect to this.. i say there is a bulllot of #*@&@#*&
out there.. propaganda about the kosovo war and
the oil reserves.. my theory is that if we WERE
depleting the supplies.. the oil companies WOULDN't
want us to know.. because then we would full well
know that we had to get our #(_at_)*&@#es going with
respect to getting OFF the oil ADDICTION..
a note.. my text buffer is currently #*@&@#ed up..
forgive any inability to correct typos. i am at
a differnt old machine tenet telnet is indigestion
addled.
so there r independent agencies that know BETTER
than big oil? department of energy? eh? really?
slush funds? okay whatever.
b. US consumers, as well as consumers elsewhere, pay quite well for
the resources they consume. (I know I surely do!) Since they pay
for it, they are surely entitled to use it as they see fit.
pay with WHAT?? the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.. horse patoot.. americans
don't PAY .. fyi i am #$($*#ed about the misinterpretation
of timothy mcveigh's final interview on 60 minutes.. TOTALLY
misrepresented..
IF (BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG IF) we take the example of the
united states government with respect to the MORAL
actions with respect to OUR INTERESTS (e.g. how much
can the US economy.. with its FAT dollar FUELED by the
piracy of the US military with respect to the worlds oil
reserves).. THEN we act just as tim mcveigh did
KILL KILL KILL..
now the PROBLEM is that the dead don't learn nuthin.
tim GOT the WRONG men (eh? men? women? children? i am
not going to say i defend his ACTIONS.. only that i think
his REASONS should be understood)..
IF IF IF we take the example of the capitally punishing
state.. the piracy of the developed world powers (TRUTH..
based on WHO WINS THE WAR)..
THEN we BELIEVE this horse patoot that we REALLY PAY..
(with this ALMIGHTY SILVER SPOON american dollar
jammed down our #*@&*#&@ throats from the day
we r born).. ONLY THEN when we delude ourselves
in this way do we believe we r living in a JUST
GOOD nation.. ONLY THEN..
i am sorry.. it is a #*@&#*& rationalization.
i don't buy this horse(_at_)#*@&#*@&
the dollar is BUILT on the BLOOD of the victims
of the gulf war.. tim mcveigh, r.i.p. saw the
HORROR of what the modern american dollar is built
on and it sickened him. that is what led him
to his extreme actions (obviously.. iiim
imjho.. me OBVIOUSLY being on the other
political end of the spectrum i don't
condone this avenue)
c. While the US may lead the world in per capita petroleum
consumption, let's not forget that it also leads the world in per
capita food product
horse patoot.. where do u get this #*@&#? what
do u think makes it possible for china and india
to be so #*@& overpopulated?? FOOOD..
the usa has a big SURPLUS.. of COURSE.. it is
one of the #*@&@# MOST SPARSELY populated
nations of the EARTH.. of COURSE we have
a surplus..
but the fact is.. asian countries have INCREDIBLY
efficient farming techniques.. the SOY bean
(hello?? SOY sauce??) and RICE r EXTREMELY
efficient crops.
there is no #*@&@ thing to be all fired
proud of what surpluses r acheived by
the most sparsely populated nation living
on a horkin' chunck of the most fertile
land on earth.
it really sickens me to see people blow the
statistics so out of proprotion.. i think it
is a symptom of theistic dementia.
ion. The US is second only to China in grain
production, with a significantly smaller population. (Third is
India, again with a population far in excess of the US.) The US
produces approximately 1/6 of the world's gr
well we have about that percent of the freekin fertile
land.. it only makes #*&@# sense.
ain harvest and
exports more grain than any other nation, approximately 5% of the
world's production, most of which goes to European countries and
Japan for animal feed use; the other nations apparently want it,
since they purchase the products.
Before one condemns anyone (or any group) for consumption, one might
well consider the various circumstances encompassing the situation,
as well as for what the resources are being used.
This is, of course, related to the the Kyoto Accords. Sadly, too
many people are convinced that these accords are about climate
preservation and environmentalism, while the truth is that they are
really about penalizing 37 successful industrial
this viewpoint is perverted.. the USA is way out of line
in terms of oil.. we HAVE to put the brakes on the #*@&
fossil fuels before it is too late. the accord prolly
makes it about as hard PER CAPITA if not MORESOE for
china and india.. they r WAY DOWN the list in that repect.
if the industrial nations r like the 'fathers' it is their
RESPONSIBILITY to make sure the #*@&# house is in order.
economies'
industries, while exempting others. The truth is that Kyoto is too
expensive, probably would actually HARM the environment, and is
irrelevant anyway, since we cannot anticipate future technologies.
See: http://www.cato.org/dailys/03-30-01.html
well.. if this is true..REALLY.. i am not aginst a better
suggestion.. but i think it reeks of right wing bull*#&@.
Again, this is so far off-topic, be advised: I shall not reply to any
further messages in this thread.
