The problem is that using \xB4mda /usr/local/bin/procmail\xB4
in ~/.fetchmailrc appends new messages to an already existing
message, instead of allowing me to see as a separate message
in its mbox. Any idea as to why this is happening?
Because procmail won't add a "From " line unless told to by the -f or
-d options. There are two possible solutions:
1) Let fetchmail deliver via your local SMTP server: after all, you
*do* have a correctly configured MTA on your machine, right? There
are reasons that this is fetchmail default behavior.
2) If you insist on invoking procmail directly from fetchmail, set the
mda to "/usr/local/bin/procmail -f %F"
The pros and cons of the choices above are better discussed on the
fetchmail mailing list.
