You're going to have to do the detective work here: where is Courier-IMAP
getting the date that it shows/sort by? You thought it from the top
Received: header field. If removing that header field didn't solve the
problem then either a) the next Received: header field is also from when
the message was transfered to your machine and you'll have to remove
two (or more!) Received: header fields; or b) it's getting it from some
where else.
So, your job is to deduce, by careful examination of the messages, date,
and files, where the problem date is located. Could it be the mtime of
the file? Some other field in the header? If you're truly desparate,
you could even read the documentation for Courier-IMAP or consult
its user support mailing list or group for the requisite information.
If you need help implementing whatever it takes then we can help, but
you'll have to do the research.
