I would consider adding at the very bottom:

echo "Please consider running this reporting script thus: "
echo " $0 | mail procdiag(_dot_)sh-report-parser(_at_)procmail(_dot_)org "
echo "to help us improve procmail. "

I wouldn't imagine adding this until there actually IS a report parser - otherwise, people will be misled into believing that they're going to get help from mailing that address. Furthermore, the purpose of the script isn't so much to improve procmail, but rather to gather pertinent data about the user's config that is usually requested at some point when attempting to diagnose "my procmail (no version mentioned or something completeley off the wall) doesn't work", and is often like pulling teeth or playing 20 questions to get answers.

Here, we can point 'em to a script and say, "run this, send results if it doesn't point to something glaringly stupid".

Next phase after obtaining the basic data bits is to put in some logic to actually check for correct file perms, etc.

You may have noted the Don Hammond has already provided a similar script for reporting the file perms in numeric format, and with a couple of minor tweaks, that is what is in the current version of the script.
