Re: formail segfault on sorting duplicates

Philip advised Matthias,

| The work-around is to split the mailbox into two pieces,
| both smaller than 2GB, run the duplicate checking, and then recombine the
| now-smaller-and-dup-free parts and run it again (with a new cache file!).

There's something I'm missing. It sounds to me as though Philip is saying
to split the mbox, run the first part for duplicates, run the second part
for duplicates with a different cache file, and then, just in case a message
appears in both parts, reconcatenate the remaining messages from the two
parts and run a duplicate check on it with yet a third cache file.

Wouldn't it make more sense to split the mbox, run the first part for
duplicates, and then reuse the first part's cache to run the second part for
duplicates? That should take care of any message that appears in both parts
after the split.
