Hello,
I run a small mailserver on RedHat 6.1, with sendmail 8.9.3 and procmail
3.21 as LDA. Mail is delivered to $HOME/.mail, with qpopper as pop3
server. There is no /etc/.procmailrc (for reasons I don't remember, I
had trouble getting a global .procmailrc to work on my system) but an
individual .procmailrc in each home directory.
I want to try and migrate to IMAP, but would appreciate any pointers (or
referral to a faq etc) on my plan. Which is:
Retain sendmail as MTA and use courier-imap for imap/pop3 server.
I understand there may be some problems with procmail 3.21 delivering to
maildir format, so I should use 3.22?
I believe I need to add the line #define MAILSPOOLHOME "/Maildir/"
to authenticate.c file before compilation - but should that be
/.Maildir/ if I'm using Courier?
The individual .procmailrc files all start with DEFAULT=$HOME/.mail
so presumably this needs to be amended - but do recipes beginning :0:
all need the second colon removing or will they still work on maildir
format as is?
I understand there are some utilities around for converting the old mbox
to maildir format, but I only have a dozen users so it's not a major
issue.
Any tips or comments would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!
