Re: Adding custom mail headers via a filter?

2002-10-16 00:40:15
Thanks David,

Could what I just had explain why a recent message was archived without the leading "F" as in From?

ie.

the message started in my mailbox with

"rom"

Never seen that behaviour before.

Almost.

`H' and `B' say which part of the message the conditions will be applied to.
(Don't confuse them with the `h' and `b' flags.) That recipe has no
conditions, so `H' and `B' are extraneous.

`f' and `c' are incompatible. It makes no sense to send a `c'opy of the message to the action if you're trying to replace the message with the output of a filtering command. If you use both, procmail will ignore the `c' and
give you an error message for it.

Finally, if `mailbox' is a plain file and not a directory, you need a local
lockfile on the second recipe.
