The procmailrc man page says
Flags can be any of the following:
[...]
f Consider the pipe as a filter.
[...]
w Wait for the filter or program to finish and check
its exitcode (normally ignored); if the filter is
unsuccessful, then the text will not have been fil-
tered.
W Has the same meaning as the `w' flag, but will sup-
press any `Program failure' message.
I've got a couple of questions.
If I am delivering mail using a pipe and dmail, should I always add the
w flag? (If I don't, how does procmail determine if delivery was
successful?)
If I use the f flag for a filter, is w implied? If not, what are the
circumstances in which a f(ilter) without w(aiting) is useful?
Thanks,
Jim
