Re: PM as MTA Filter

2003-03-14 15:36:04
At 13:40 2003-03-14 -0800, Hank Ratzesberger did say:

The man page provides an example of PM as
a general MTA filter -- that is, modifying all
outbound messages on a sendmail server. In fact,
the example they site is for outbound mail.

Well, there's the following I found on usenet:

<http://groups.google.com/groups?q=sendmail+remove+received+procmail&start=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=39AD6C3D.4A7EE554%40anfi.freeshell.org&rnum=20>

<http://free.polbox.pl/a/anfi/> (the homepage of Andrzej Filip) There is no info on this technique there, but it's worth noting anyway. I've separatley posted to Andrzej inquiring about making any updates to the the above referenced material more publicly accessible on his website. I'll summarize any response here.

<http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&threadm=38DB5565.3A36B53F%40phil-berry.demon.co.uk&rnum=5&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dsendmail%2B%2522remove%2Breceived%2522%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26selm%3D38DB5565.3A36B53F%2540phil-berry.demon.co.uk%26rnum%3D5>

The bottommost two posts in that thread may be of use to you. I've tested neither.

More interesting reading.

For making Sendmail config hacks, I highly recommend running a test server, on which you can make the config hacks without putting real email at risk.
