I use RedHat 8 and am trying to set up Spamassassin to filter my mail.
My plan is to use Fetchmail to deliver the email to Procmail to send it
to Spamassassin to mark it and then Evolution to read it.
The Fetchmail part works, to a degree. I can get the email and it is
delivered to the /var/mail/root mailbox. I want it to go to the
/var/mail/<myusername> mailbox so that Evolution can get it while
running as me. The mail that does go to the root box doesn't seem to go
through Spamassassin. There is no header attached to it for Evolution
to filter. My questions are this:
1. How do I get the email to the <myusername> box. Is this a Fetchamil
issue or a Procmail issue?
2 Does the email need to go through Spamassasin first or Procmail? If
(as I think) it needs to go through Procmail how do I then get it to the
proper box for Evolution to get it?
