Thanks for the tip. I had to modify it slightly and then it worked!

# su popuser -s /bin/sh -c "formail -s /usr/bin/procmail \    
/var/qmail/mailnames/linuxaus.com/gonzalo/.procmailrc \ 
</var/qmail/mailnames/linuxaus.com/gonzalo/Maildir/cur/1062568332.14303_0.mercury.linuxaus.com:2,"
