Because YOU did not append one to this rule. Your rule explicitly only
contains characters that are NOT '@'. The other rule, that broke, had the
explicit '@whatever' on the end:
* ^Mailing-List:.*list \/[^(_at_)]+@whatever
It's *everything* after the \/ until the end of line.
