Gary advised somebody (he didn't quote the name and I didn't look back
to find the original post in the archives) as follows,
To avoid mail loops, make sure that you check for that X-Loop header that
you're (correctly) adding to the reply:
* !^X-Loop:.*$EMAIL
Nope. The "$" modifier is required on the condition to get procmail to
do variable substitution in the regexp. Otherwise it's looking for the
absence of
<newline>X-Loop:<any or no characters except newline><newline>EMAIL
in the head. Almost every message since the dawn of email will fail
such a regexp and thus pass the condition.
