Does procmail count the size of the message every time

I have more then 5 recipes that start with:
* < 5000000
Now, I wander if it's silly to do so. Any idea?
Thanks to all of the answers. It's important to us because
we have hight LA in this days and we try to be streamlined
in any corner. I can't group the recipes into nested braces
because the size are different in some cases so I'll adopt
David's way. BTW. last night I thought about this:
* 1^1 > 1
{ SIZE = $= }
Now, if the limit is 5000:
* SIZE ?? ^^[1-4]?[0-9]?[0-9]?[0-9]?^^
But David's way is much readable.
Thanks again,
Udi
