How would one do that, short of piping the whole thing to a PERL
script that would sum the length of each line and spit out the result?
I'm not talking about, "If the file is larger than 32000, then do X",
I'm talking about, "record the length of the file in the logfile...
as is done with the logabstract.
The point is, I've turned off the log abstract, because I prefer a
more verbose log, and the abstract just gets in the way, and since
the logfiles are not an "atomic" operation, there's no guarantee that
the rest of the logs and the abstract will in fact be adjacent on a
"Busy" mail system. I've actually seen logs mix together back before
we started doing everything with the TRAP directive, but I digress.
So, how to get the size of the message?
There doesn't seem to be a variable listed in `man procmailrc`.
Any suggestions?
Aloha mai Nai`a!
