Referencing http://www.mandrakesecure.net/en/docs/postfix-sasl.php , I've
followed most of the directions successfully, but I'm slowly coming to
the conclusion that the diretions are a bit obsolete.
Note, running Postfix 2.0.6-1.mdk and Cyrus SAL 2.1.12-1.mdk (update
through Red Carpet) on Mandrake 9.1. Source ball for Postfix 2.0.14 is
resident on my drive, waiting to be compiled.
Problem 1 that I'm running into are that /usr/lib/sasl/smtpd.conf does not
exist, however doing 'locate sasl | grep smtp' pulls up
/usr/lib/esmtp5-plugins. Is this sufficient for the purpose, or need I
create the former dir and file?
Second problem is on the smtp_sasl_password_maps option in my
/etc/postfix/main.cf file. I'm a little confused on the outbound
credentials file - what would this be used for, and more importantly,
would this be used for the purposes of SPF? It is for the time being
commented out with a "fixme" tag.
Help on this would be gratefully appreciated. You will be paid one fat
free yogurt. =^_^=
