Mark, I think you misunderstand.

This has nothing to do with SpamAssassin, as far as we are aware.  The
only reason this was being discussed on spamassassin-dev is that the
user with the faulty SPF implementation is on spamassassin-users, so
the spamassassin list admins saw the bounce.

Something at gmx.net is doing faulty SMTP-time SPF-checking.  We don't
know what it is, but I doubt it is SpamAssassin.
