In your postfix main.cf, you need to tweak the setting:
default_process_limit = 200
200 is what I use, which is sufficient to allow spamassassin to complete its
checks. You may need
more, but thats the param you need to play with anyway.

Subject: [spf-discuss] Postfix "command time limit exceeded" warnings?
Trying Mengs policy server on a recent postfix snapshot. Seems to be
working, but I'm getting these in my logs -
Aug 26 16:51:26 relay postfix/spawn[22393]: warning:
/usr/bin/perl: process
id 22394: command time limit exceeded
Aug 26 17:08:32 relay postfix/spawn[22285]: warning:
/usr/bin/perl: process
id 22602: command time limit exceeded
Aug 26 17:10:50 relay postfix/spawn[22637]: warning:
/usr/bin/perl: process
id 22638: command time limit exceeded
Aug 26 17:15:44 relay postfix/spawn[22695]: warning:
/usr/bin/perl: process
id 22696: command time limit exceeded
Aug 26 17:28:49 relay postfix/spawn[22637]: warning:
/usr/bin/perl: process
id 22898: command time limit exceeded
Aug 26 18:49:02 relay postfix/spawn[23755]: warning:
/usr/bin/perl: process
id 23756: command time limit exceeded
Aug 26 19:08:44 relay postfix/spawn[23682]: warning:
/usr/bin/perl: process
id 23947: command time limit exceeded
Aug 26 19:25:46 relay postfix/spawn[23980]: warning:
/usr/bin/perl: process
id 24102: command time limit exceeded
Aug 26 19:26:08 relay postfix/spawn[23682]: warning:
/usr/bin/perl: process
id 24108: command time limit exceeded
It's been suggested by Wietse that a "policy_time_limit"
might need setting,
as it's not documented in the script, I thought I'd see if anyone else
has/had the same issue, and how they fixed it?
regards,
Paul
