Re: [spf-discuss] Need Help with SPF DNS record

It'd be easier to tell looking at the whole email header from a rejected message but it sounds like the person is trying to use your server to distribute mail sent with an adelphia.net "from" address and your server is not authorized for that in adelphia.net's own SPF record.

"550-SPF prohibits 216.255.7.248 sending mail from adelphia.net"

If he changes his mail to be "from" a rob-robson.com address that should help a lot...

I'm getting rejections from a mailing list sent from my server.

rob-robson.com. IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx include:adelphia.net all"

Here is what I have:
My own mail server mail.rob-robson.com
my own DNS server with the following record

rob-robson.com. IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx include:adelphia.net all"

I have a user on adelphia.net who sends newsletters to my list_server for distribution to club
members.
Here is the rejection I get:

------------- snip ------------------------------------------------------
  *** duane(_at_)csaccess(_dot_)net
  550-SPF prohibits 216.255.7.248 sending mail from adelphia.net
-------------- end nip -------------------------------------------------

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
Rob
