Are you talking abot that 16*16 icon with 110 colours plus a 32*32
variant with 228 colours, blue SPF with a red check mark, transparent

I can remove it from this directory, if that's some new SPF icon policy.

The conclusion was that there is no (new) policy for the logo.  The logo 
can be used freely under the GFDL.  However, the project will hate anybody 
who abuses it. ;-)
