anyone done any translations from XSLT to Haskell? it would
seem to me this could be accomplished with... a stylesheet?
but then it's a long time ago since i did any Haskell.
Software AG's QuiP prototype of XQuery [1] is implemented in Haskell.

I think you would find it easier to do the translator in Haskell rather
than in XSLT...
