RE: Joining Multiple XML using XPath API of XALAN

2002-09-09 10:35:18
I have to merge multiple XML that would come from
various sources. All the XML coming conform to the
same single Schema. The XML coming from various
sources will be merged and the merged xml will still
conform to that schema, the resultant xml will contain
all the elements and attributes defined in the schema.

Is there any external API available?????

Thanks
Dennis

Does someone have examples to merge multiple xml
files
using XALAN XPath API.
All the XMLs are conforming to the same schema and
they have to be merged to make a common XML.
I know we can write an XSL for such a
transformation
but JAVA code will be more efficient.
Any thoughts or pointers will help.

XPath is for querying documents, and the Xalan
XPathAPI API works well against any number of
documents.

Java code that uses XPath (and therefore a DOM) will
not be the most efficient option. SAX or just plain
string or stream operations will be the most
efficient.

What are your particular requirements? Using XSLT
for this sort of thing is really a pretty good
idea...
