This is something of a FAQ, and DaveP has a writeup of some early answers

The solution is basically what you have, but achieves your desiderata of
speed and elegance by using keys.

Inside the predicate is not a test for node identity; it's a test for
string equivalence, which isn't the same at all.
Keys are fun and easy once you get the hang of em.
