until it occurred to me you might be running the
transformation in the
browser. Is that the case?
In that case, I think it's a browser question and
not an XSLT question. (Which browser, for a start?)
I am sorry for not being quite clear. Yes I am doing
the transformation in the browser (IE 6.0).
If you install the View XSL Output tool from:

you will be able to copy and paste the output into a text file...
