With a liitle JavaScript or VBScript and MS XML API,
it will be very easy to write to file. But it only
allows you run it locally or change IE Security
policy. By default all of Internet(NON-LOCAL) content
can not access to local drive in IE or other browsers.

Mike,
I tried hard to think of a reason you might think
this is a problem,
until it occurred to me you might be running the
transformation in the
browser. Is that the case?
In that case, I think it's a browser question and
not an XSLT question.
(Which browser, for a start?)
I am sorry for not being quite clear. Yes I am doing
the transformation in the browser (IE 6.0).
