You should copy all the XML to the <TextArea>
Following template should answer your query..

        <xsl:template match="/">
                <textarea rows="10" cols="30">
                <xsl:copy-of select="*"> </xsl:copy-of>
                </textarea>
        </xsl:template>

Hello,

How do I select the entire XML document?  I need to write this out in a text
area.  This didn't work:

  <xsl:template match="/*">
    <textarea>
       <xsl:value-of select="/*"/>
   </textarea>
  </xsl:template>
