1. It is not necessary to have Exslt in order to use a max() function.
With MSXML3
you can use the "maximum" template from FXSL 1.1
Is there a list of functions that can be accessed in FXSL 1.1 without Exslt?
All functions -- FXSL 1.1 does not depend on/use Exslt.
If someone is constrained to using MSXML3 due to some reason, there is still the
option to download fxsl-MS-1.1.1.zip
