Recursion (as well as XSLT functional programming) is a light-bulb
concept for most people, i.e. it is somewhat baffling until the light
bulb turns on in your head. It is only after that moment of brilliant
clarity that recursion is understood and at that point often quite well.
A person's clear understanding of a concept though does not
necessarily make it "natural".
Sugar is rarely applied to the already sweet, but often to the bitter...
