Imaginative, but it won't work.
Entity references are expanded by the XML parser, they are never seen by
the XSLT processor. The XSLT processor cannot influence how XML entities
are expanded, by the time it gets to see the source tree, the job has
already been done.

Subject: [xsl] parsing entities
Dear List
Does anyone has an idea about how to do
dynamic calls of external entities?
In the xslfile i have a set of Entities defined
which should get included according to the parsed
xml;
<!ENTITY foo "value_foo">
<!ENTITY bar "value_bar">
the xml looks somewhat similar to;
<elem name="foo">
<elem_foo>blah</elem_foo>
</elem>
<elem name="bar">
<elem_bar>blah</elem_bar>
</elem>
... and now i try to fetch the appropriate
entities according to an element's name attribute
<xsl:for-each select="elem">
<!-- &{(_at_)name}; -->
</xsl:for-each>
The above obviously won't work, just shows the
basic idea of assigning Entities depending on
a node's attribute.
Maybe there's already a mistake in understanding...
Any ideas etc. highly appreciated
thanx
silvan
