your solution works. This was what I needed. Now I have to read a little about
what xls:key does to also understand this. :-)

ok so you probly do want to use muenchian grouping...
you want to key off the page identity and the text attribute, so
<xsl:key name="x" match="entry"
use="concat(generate-id(ancestor::page[1]),' ',@text")/>
then to get if you are on a page element, to get all the entry elements
you just need
select=".//entry[generate-id()=generate-id(key('x',
concat(generate-id(ancestor::page[1]),' ',@text"))[1])]"/>
ie select all the entries thatare the first node returned with the key
for that entry.
