Altough I looked through several bug reports, i haven't seen the bug and the
link you mailed me...
Perhaps I just used the wrong keywords...
After using the endorsed method to override the bug, it all works fine
now...

First thing to check: JDK 1.3 and 1.4 came with (old and probably buggy)
versions of Xalan built in; you should start by replacing those with
current code and see if that solves the problem. See the Xalan FAQ page,
