I have some <br /> tags in my XSLT stylesheet. But they are
changed to <br> in HTML after transformation. Any idea why
this is happening?
It's happening because that's the correct way of representing a br
element in HTML, and because that's how the XSLT processor says it
should be done.
Tags, of course, disappear long before XSLT gets to see the data. All
that XSLT sees is a tree of nodes.
If you want <br />, then you're using the wrong output method.
