you could have said that in your priginal posting as that explains why
you are writing out to a file. Given thant input (it's best just not to
have the CDATA section if you can control the input) writing out to a
file and reading it back is one way to parse the text, although you may
find that the system has a moredirect parsing extension (saxon has for
example)

But it does not process it.
it does process it but it is a single text nodes, there are no p (or
otehr element) nodes, that is what CDATA means.
