RE: how to understand a complex stylesheet

The discussion at that site mentions PXSL which is a non-XML way of
expressing XSL templates.

I find this idea very attractive and helps to visually differentiate the
XSLT components from the XML literal result elements.

I'm aware of PXSL, NiceXSL and XSLSscript. All are trying to do similar
things, but to me each one has its own strengths and weaknesses. There is
also XQuery which uses non-XML syntax to process XML data (although this is
really a different animal).

Some kind of visual modeling/design tool that generated XSL would be a very
interesting idea.

Subject: [xsl] how to understand a complex stylesheet

Hello everyone.

I am writing a paper for university concerning mainly XSLT.
One chapter is about getting into/understanding complex
stylesheets. Since it is not easy to comprehend big
stylesheets and it is often cumbersome to get acquainted
with stylesheets, I am looking for ways to make this process
easier. That is, I try to find ways like visualizing
stylesheets or anything that is usable for understanding
one. But it seems to me, that there is quite few information
and research going on about this topic. I had a lot of
problems finding anything, the only result I have so far is
a SVG visualization by Chimezie Ogbuji, at
http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2003/06/04/xslt-svg.html
Can anyone give me some hints or information about stuff
like this? I would really appreciate your help!

Thanks in advanced,

greetings,

Henning
